The Universal Declaration of Human Rights says:” All people are born free. All people are born equal and so have equal rights. People can think for themselves and understand what’s going on around them. Everyone should act as brothers and sisters.”
In terms of human rights, there exists a difference between men and women. The issue of women’s human rights has been discussed these years. People realized that, in general, women have less opportunity then men to carry out their human rights, such as in education and in hunting for a job. For example, I learned in class that, in Singapore, women would be paid less than men for the same position. I have no idea how it happens.
In some parts of the world, women are living miserable lives. Some of their human rights are cruelly exploited. In Afghanistan, most women don’t have the right to education. There are many other limitations for Afghan women. For instance, they may serve ad compensation to settle down a dispute, which I think is inhuman. Women are not articles, and they should not be transferred just like they are private property of men.
Women are born free and equal as men in human rights. Those women, who haven’t got their due rights, are supposed to fight bravely for human rights.
Yes, we shuold not be blindly positive, we should know that there are people who are still suffering.

ReplyDeleteGender discrimination is not easy to be removed, but people is trying to change it. The situation will be better.
ReplyDeleteIn fact, I think men don't have less rights, but women has more rights nowadays.
Except Father's day, men don't have any festival only for male.
Only for female, Mather's Day and Women's Day, what else?
DeleteWell, different gender, different feelings.
ReplyDeleteThe situation of women's human rights has improved greatly. I admit that the situation now are better than that in the past. But the discrimination still exits to some degree, for example for girls who study engineer smotimes are hard to get the job when compared with boys.
ReplyDeleteSupport your fighting! I also think it is unfair to give women less salary, although it seems to be a priviledge to us males. There are also many successful women in the world. You will be one of them!
ReplyDeleteWhat you mentioned is really worth to be discussed. The discrimination about women still occurs nowadays. So when we enjoy our own rights, we should concern more about other people who don't have the same rights as us.
ReplyDeleteWell, the reason that I was given for the difference in starting pay for women and men is that the men have to be compensated for the 2 years of national service that they need to serve. However, I do not think that is a good reason for the difference.
