Are you still wearing T-shirt with blue jeans everyday? If your answer is “Yes”, then you are already “out”.
Fashion leaders today prefer to choose the bright-colored and oddly designed clothes, which can represent their rebellious characteristic. They wear clothes of several exaggerative colors mixed together to draw public’s attention. For example, the blend of red and green, which seen as a taboo in traditional chromatics, can be one of “in” cultures today. Another typical example is the popularity of shabby jean (the jean with holes on it). These “worm-eaten” jeans sometimes can cost much more than a normal one.
People’s pursuit of “in” never stops. It is noticeable that superstars play an important role in spreading the “in” culture. Once a movie star wears a special cloth or trouser in a movie, it can lead a new fad few days later. People are willing to spend thousands of money in their clothes to imitate their idol.
Whether you accept this kind of culture or not, in fact teenagers are influenced by it unconsciously. As my personal opinion, trying to live as an “in” man/woman is not a bad thing, but we are not expected to blindly spend our money just to show we are “in”.
Haha~~Now, I am reading your blog, and I am really wearing blue jeans and T-shirt。。。Yeah。。I think I am out, haha~Your blog is really useful!
ReplyDeleteI am out, too. When I was in junior high school, many people worn in "worn-eaten" jeans, does this fad circulate back or it has last for so long a time?
ReplyDeletei am out too....I think iti is very interesting to know more about popularity, but I do not want to chase after it because it is very tiring and expensive.
ReplyDeleteI think everyone has his or her own preferences. If someone persue of "in" all the time, it is ok for him or her. For me, I just choose things I like, no matter they are "in" or "out."
