Learning Strategies
Speaking may be one of the most widely accepted ways to learn English. When we speak aloud, we can hear our pronunciation clearly and change our mistakes straight away. What’s more, speaking requires us to form several complete sentences during a very short time, which forces us to think in English rather than just translate sentences. I highly recommend we start the day with a beautiful article and read it aloud on a balcony or other nice place. Choose some articles that can inspire us. Not only can we improve our English, but we can also put us into good mood, ready to enjoy the whole day.
Reciting also contributes to my English learning, but, someone may feel it is too boring to do a thing like that. In my opinion, however, reciting enlarges my vocabulary and improves my ability to express myself. When I read, I tend to copy my favorite parts and try to recite them. Such parts can be a description of a nice place, an accurate description of one’s mind, etc.
That is all for my suggestions; I hope everyone can enjoy themselves when learning English.
Skipping Chinese When Using English
To use English without the participation of Chinese, we need to avoid giving an English word a Chinese meaning. We had better use junior English words to define senior ones. For some English words with meanings of specific stuff in real life, we can even memorize them by forming pictures in our mind. In sum, no matter what methods do we adopt, the key point is to skip Chinese!
Besides, we are supposed to speak English as much as possible after class. As we usually speak chinese in daily life, the connection between the general stuff and its chinese name is confirm. Consequently, when we try to mention something which occurs in daily life, the Chinese name of it will come out instantly and interrupt us from seeking its English name. To avoid this condition, the only way we can adopt is to speak English instead of Chinese in daily life.
Furthermore, reading an English novel is a good way for us skip Chinese. When getting absorbed in an English novel, we enter an English environment so that we will unconsciously skip Chinese and understand the plots directly in English. After spending lots of time reading it, we are able to come up with English words instantly instead of Chinese words when we are writing.
All in all, try to use English without the translation from Chinese and we will eventually become near native speakers.
English Learning Strategies
First, activate your ears. Listening is very important in learning a foreign language. I think watching movies and TV shows is a very useful method. Sometimes listening to a radio like BBC can be a little boring. While watching movies and TV shows can not only attract our attention but also teach us some common uses of daily English. However, we should pay attention to the choice of movies. Not all the movies are suitable. Because the lines in some movies are so casual that they don’t follow the rules of grammar. We’d better select the classic movies. Besides, don’t just choose the American movies or TV drama. We should watch them form different English speaking countries so that we can enrich ourselves with more vocabularies and phrases. The more we practice listening, the more clearly we’ll listen to the native speakers.
Second, open your mouth. Some people are afraid to speak a foreign language in front of a lot of people just like me. But I think practice makes perfect. Speaking more with others can increase your confidence. Although sometimes we can not express ourselves by using the exact words, sometimes we just can’t think of the words we’ve already known, but the situation will get better if we keep on talking with others in English.
In addition, never stop reading. Reading English books or newspaper can be a good way of learning lots of new words. It can also deliver to you fresh information and different views. Absorb them and then you’ll have something helpful in your mind.
Last but not least, make every effort , stick to your strategies and never give up!
Learning strategies
As for English, I have learnt for about 11 years, so I have some experience no matter how my English level is.
I don’t think people can remember English words by repeating it again and again. I have no idea whether there is a best way to recite English words or not, but I can learn the words by heart by reading the textbooks when I was a junior student. As time went by, I was admitted by senior high school, and my English told us her method about enriching vocabulary, which is reviewing the words in a certain time. She said, “I must memorise lots of words when I was in university, so I looked at every words intently. And I read them every day before I went to bed, then I had impression of them, so I knew its meaning when I saw one of my memorised words. Besides, I reviewed the words in a certain time, maybe once a month or longer. I didn’t try to recite them as soon as possible, because I would forget them if I didn’t use them for a long time. So using the words is important as well.” I agree with my teacher very much.
How about grammar? Watching grammar books or doing lots of exercises? No! It’s boring. I haven’t recited the grammar what eacher asked to, but I obeyed teacher’s words to recite texts in the morning reading. Now that you must read something, why not reciting the texts? And I got high marks in exams because I had intuition to judge. Of course that was I have done during the junior school days, there wasn’t much time for us to do that and the passages were too long when we were in higher grades. So maybe you can suggest your younger sisters and brothers to learn grammar like this.
When your English basic is steady, you should improve it and learn more about proverbs, culture for further communication. A friend of mine once said to me, “Recently I was reading the Bible in English, on which I usually conversed with foreigners. As you know, I have seen more than 100 Hollywood films, so there is no difficult to me. I like the feeling when I talking with people who I want to on my interested topic.” So I think it is a wonderful idea to watch movies for improving English skills.
These are my experience about English learning strategies, you can adapt what you consider is useful and learn from them. I will be thankful if you can share your strategies with me.

Learning Strategies
When it comes to how to learn as learners ,everyone has something to say ,which is one of the characteristics of "individual" .As far as I am concerned ,there is still some common practice suitable for the majority .
Was there a stage when you were tired of studying and whatever you did seemed meaningless ?Well ,I want to say that it is common during our school life .Maybe it is just because of over working on our study or a lack of sleep .In this case ,the best approach is not to try again and again to figure out a functional way ,but just to set aside some time for a rest .It can be a month or longer ,depending on different people .
What's more ,during our study ,the most important thing is that we should make it clear what we are supposed to get or to achieve after our years of efforts .A clear ambition is not only a goal about the future ,but also a kind of motivation which can show us a brighter outlook compared with the hard study day after day ,and we can call it anchorage to some extent .
Personally ,I think if one can keep the two tips in mind ,he or she has already equipped with the basic skills to study well .Because the student knows he or she should not push himself or herself to hard and shift as he or she can to pursue the goal .

English Learning Strategies
Interest--the heart of learning
Today, I was asked whether I enjoy studying. I think despite the fact that it's boring to study, we have to study every day. Only then can we get good grades and have a better future. However, We just force ourselves to study but haven't realized the pleasure of study and don't enjoy it from the heart. Just as taking medicine, there is no doubt that all of us don't like taking medicine, but when we are sick we have to take it whether we like it or not. But my partner Ruizhi told me that his did enjoy studying. He loves whatever he does from the heart and from the beginning. What he said shocked me and let me think about the interest of learning as well as everything.
As an old motto told us, interest is the best teacher. How can we achieve something without interest? Yes, things do have their boring parts, but we can ignore the bad parts and concentrate more on the positive parts. The same example, we hate medicine, but we can concentrate more on its instructions and how it functions. Then, we may not regard it as a suffering to take medicine because we can have interest in investigating it.
Now that we have to do something, why not leave out the bad feelings and begin to enjoy it?
Learning strategies
Everyone has his own learning strategies which are more suitable and helpful. As for me, I usually use two different learning strategies: preview and review.
Preview plays an important part in our confidence-building.For example, I will preview the lesson when it is difficult for me to understand or has many new words. Once I have previewed, I will have a roughly understanding about the lesson. Therefore the fear will disappear and confidence will come.
In my opinion, I think review is indispensable. By reviewing, I will understand what I have learnt better and deepen my memories about the lesson. Besides, I usually review the lesson many times. Review is really helpful especially when what I should memorize is boring. As for me, when I was reviewing the lesson, I often came up with many new ideas which are helpful for my learning. As a result, if I have reviewed enough times, the lesson will be easier and easier to understand.
Everybody knows these two learning strategies. But it is easy said than done. I strongly recommend you to master these two methods. It will make your study easier and happier than before.
When forgetfulness comes
There are plenty of English learners who complain about the following situation. Sometimes they felt the words look familiar, but they could't remember the meaning of it. If you do have the same experience, that is because you are still not acquainted with this word. It can be your reading barrier if you fail to think up the meaning of the word at the first time.
So what to do with this situation? The answer seems simple but effective - practice makes perfect. If one word frequently appears, it is hard to erase the memory of it. Language learning is a long journey of forgetfulness and strengthening. That means it is almost impossible for anyone to remember all the words they have met. It doesn't matter if you forget a new word or phrase right away. But how about twice or three times? It will finally be branded into your brain just as the soldering iron does to the metal plate.
Nowadays, thousands of resources on the Internet offer us a brand new way to learn English. There are NPR, BBC, CNN for high-level learners, and VOA Special English for medium level learners. Besides these, American series also seems to be a good choice. Whatever it is, just pick up one and go into it. There is no doubt that you will finally benefit from it.
This is just my way of learning - using the words whenever it is. It may not be suitable for everyone, but there is one thing should be regard as Learning Bible "Stay hungry, stay foolish".

Learning strategies
There are different kinds of strategies in different periods of one's studying time.
For me, when I was a senior high school students,I listened to the teachers carefully
and kept notes on my class. I reviewed my recently-received knowledge after
class and try my best to finish my homework (Although I hardly ever finished my
homework thoroughly).
These strategies are enough for my high school study. But not for now.
There are English, and more English every day, boring and tiring as the routine is
all the same day after day. So what I need is not only a strategy for study, but also
a strategy for living. It's important to get rid of the negative attitude to studying and
daily life.
All studying methods resemble one another (for example,to keep a vocabulary
notebook, review schoolwork every day, to talk more and listen more, to have a
plan and put it into effect, etc), while entertaining methods have their own ways.
I think reading English books and watching sitcoms are both good ways both to
relax and study. We read not just for developing our reading skills, but also for fun.
And so do the intention of watching English TV shows. To some degree, playing
games of english versions on computer and browsing English websites are also
good ways to learning English while playing.
Learning English from TV shows
Today, we had a learning strategies class. Everyone has his own ways to develop his English skills. As far as I’m concerned, the best way to learn English breezily is watching English TV shows and taking notes when you meet some new words or new usage of old words. Not only can we enjoy the exciting plot ,but also we are able to know how to use English correctly in various situations.
However, the disadvantage is that sometimes we will be devoted in the story and put the note away. For dealing with this problem, I recommend watching the short TV shows, like Friends, a situation comedy, which is about 20 minutes one episode. It is about 6 persons’ life in New York, so it includes much communication in our daily life. Through this shows, we can learn a lot of useful words and when to use them. Besides, it won’t be boring, even you watch it again and again. So you can enjoy the plot at the first time, take your notes at the second time, and practice your listening and speaking without the lines at your third time.
Of course, it is not suitable for everyone. I hope you can find the most appropriate strategy for yourself.
Studying more efficiently
Frankly speaking, in my childhood, to some degree, I did not like to study so I could not fully engaged myself in the tasks. As I grew old, I noticed that it was the distractions around me that draw my attention away from my work. First of all, I strongly maintain that it is of great importance to choose a quiet and comfortable place to study, like the library or the self-learning classrooms, where you can totally immerse yourself into a fabulous atmosphere studying and be far away from distractions. Secondly, at the same time, confronted a great deal of work to do, we ought to make a list to help us know what you should do and then arrange our time and prioritize the things in a practical schedule, through which we can better organize our time more efficiently. Finally, the rest and recreation are extremely vital too, through which can recharge our batteries and help us keep our positive attitudes.
Through these learning strategies, I believe that we group 4 students can smoothly fulfill our bridging course, improve our English skills, and ultimately become good friends with each other happily.
