Yang Rou Pao Mo
At the first sight of “Tastes and Preferences”, delicious foods come to my mind immediately, especially the food in my hometown, Shaanxi. I would like to introduce one of the most famous foods, Yang Rou Pao Mo, which I like very much.
From the name Yang Rou Pao Mo, it is clear that the main materials are mutton and Mo. To be more specific, Mo is Guo Kui, which is one of the eight strangest things in Shaanxi, and it is delicious as well. Tear the Mo and cut the mutton into little pieces, then put them together with vermicelli into water and boil them until it is mature. Then the tasty Yang Rou Pao Mo is done, but do not be hurry to have it although it smells luscious. It will taste better if you eat it with Sweet and Sour Garlic and you will feel it is the most delicious food you ever have tasted. What is more, there is also preparing special chili sauce for people who are fond of chili.
Now I have drooled when I imaging the taste of Yang Rou Pao Mo. But everyone has his own appetite; someone may be allergic to mutton and does not like Yang Rou Pao Mo at the first time. But just like durian, people will fall in love with it at last after try having it for many times.

I think it si a great kind of food in the mind of many people, but I also believe there are still many people who dislike it after trying. It does not matter that this food is not accepted by all other people. Just enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteAfter listening your introduction of Yang Rou Pao Mo, I really want to try it in ShaanXi. In fact, I have tried it before, but I think what I ate was not the authentic one. If I get a chance to visit your home town, I will try Yang Rou Pao Mo first.
ReplyDeleteI tried this food and I like it although i didn't try the genuine Yangrou Paomo of Shaanxi. It's interesting that we all miss the food we ate when we were children.

ReplyDeleteI wonder how Yang Rou Pao Mo tastes like. I also miss the dishes in my hometown, especially the meal my mother cooks. I think we are usually miss the things that we get used to. By the way, I haven't tried durian yet, because I can't stand its smell.

ReplyDeleteIn my summer holiday last year, I went to Shanxi to have s visit. And in Huimin Street, which I heard s a sitreet full of many kinds of snacks, I tried Niurou Paomo, because I don't like mutton that much. But I think it's not that delicious. Maybe next time I will try Yangrou Paomo, and taste the genuine one!
ReplyDeleteI have try this in Beijing before. I think mutton is good but 'mo' is a bit dry. I have been in Xian once, and I thought the weather in Xian is also a bit dry. I hope one day I can have this dry food in the dry place.
