There are so many
learning strategies of English. But what is the best one? There may be no best
strategies. So you must find the most suitable one for yourself. And it is of
great use for me to communicate with local people in English.
Many people find
it difficult to learn English very fast. It is normal because English is not
your mother tongue. Suppose that you were born in an English-speaking country,
of course you can pick up English very easily. Everyone around you is speaking English,
so you have to practice. Just like that you are a Chinese, you can master Chinese at a
young age. That is to say, communication is a good learning strategy.
By communicating
with people who speak English, you can improve your English level virtually. And
being a near-native speaker is not only a dream any more. Good spoken English enables
you to adapt to a new environment rapidly. However, we may be afraid of talking
with local friends in English. To tell you the truth, I fell really embarrassed
when making any mistake. Under this circumstance, I would keep silent rather
than speak. As a saying goes, ‘all enemies are tiger made of paper’, believe
yourself, you can do anything. Moreover, set a goal for yourself like how long
you will chat with the local. For example, speak English during lunchtime and
try your best to finish it. As time flies, you are able to find your process.
Just remember to
integrating communication and learning, speak English more,in this way can you
master English better.
I agree to this idea-the best way is what fits to you .
ReplyDeleteDai Yi, I like some of your suggestions like setting a goal when chatting with a local friend IN ENGLISH and speaking English at lunchtime. Now my questions are: WHEN are you planning to put all these into action? WHAT are some plans (2 or 3) you will make to achieve your goal? Don't feel or be embarrassed by mistakes, JUST DO IT! (:
ReplyDeleteI totally support the idea. When I first tried to communicate with the local, she asked whether I can speak Chinese it is really embrassing but I think it is the problem we need to overcome. Sometimes we can pretend that we can only speak English
ReplyDeleteYour article is so motivating! "All enemies are tiger made of paper"! Yes, you are right! Just have confidence and believe yourself. Don't worry about the mistakes you will make. I must learn from you and I should be more brave to talk with the local people.
