Lihua style poem
was popular when I was in senior high school, but unfortunately, I did not have
the enthusiasm to learn more about this poetic style until I have learnt this
week’s theme. Lihua style comes from one modern Chinese poet, Zhao Lihua, who
is famous for her simple, clear and easy-understanding poems. After the
appearance of Lihua style, people who just know Chinese language can create a
perfect Lihua style poem.
The method to
write a Lihua style poem is very simple. First, people should come up with one
complete sentence, and then, divide it into several fractions, finally, put
them into different lines. For example, we can write “I want to say thanks to
my mom.” Then, we divide it into “I”, “want to”, “say”, “thanks”, “to my mom”. And
a Lihua style poem has been created:
“I
Want to
Say
Thanks
To My mom”
The main purpose
of this poetic style is not rigorous in word choices, but the inner feeling of
the poem; however, some poetic experts are strongly against Lihua style. They
even deny Lihua style as a so called poetry. As for me, though I like Lihua
style due to its direct feeling expressions and the opportunities it gives
ordinary people to get close to poetry, I still agree with these experts. Lihua
style pays all its attention to express the feelings without caring for its
diction. This drawback causes the loss in aesthetic aspect.
Just like SMS,
the more simple it is, the more connotations it loses.
Haha, a interesting poem. I think that LuHua's style is more spontaneous and meaningful. It allows us to fully express our feelings instead of thinking about "big words." Maybe I will try this style in the future, thanks.

I appreciate your argumentative writing. It has its advantages and disadvantages. I think it can be the first step we learn poetry
It is interesting, but I still cannot understand it. Maybe it is because I am bad at poemtry.
ReplyDeleteIn my mind, literature is for people to express their feelings and understandings of life, and enables them to appreciate others' masterpieces. I think the style is not important. If a peom can evoke emotions in readers' hearts, the poem can be called a well written poem.
