Another me

When I was a child, I used to hope that I could be cloned, so that I can get another person who has the same appearance with me. If that, I can ask her to go to school and do the homework for me, and when I did something wrong I could say that it was her fault, so I would not be punished.
That was the dreamlike life in my childish imagination. Now I do not want to get the "copy" of myself. Because now I think I will be in trouble if I get cloned. It is true that life I dreamed when I was a child is really attractive, because I can leave all the bad and unwilling tasks to "another me", and I can do what I like to do. At that time, I only thought of the benefits I can get from the "copy", but I never thought of how I could control the “another me” and make her do what I asked her to do. She is a real and alive person, and what makes her different is that she looks the same as me. Except that, she is nothing different from a normal person. She has her own thoughts and values, so it is impossible for me to control her just as I cannot control any other people in the world. I cannot make her obey my instructors, that is to say I cannot promise that she will not do something bad to me. She may break the law and make me in jail instead of her. She may also rob my job, my family, my friends and even my boyfriend from me. That is extremely horrible.

Cloning is coping, but far more than coping, because what it copied is not a file or an essay, but a living creature. This means that you cannot throw it away easily even it is not what you really need. To get a successful cloning person, lots of failed creatures might be created. Some may even be disabled or have diseases. It is immoral to kill them after giving lives to them, but it is really difficult to look after these creatures.  Clone can make technology into a dilemma, so it would be better that no reproductive cloning will be allowed.

    1. Wow, a thought-provoking topic. In fact, I used to dream of coloning myself, too. However, after reading your blog, I think that I need to think it deeply, thank you.

  2. I agree with you that clone may cause many failed creatures. It is a waste of life. Scientists need do experiment for thousands of times to produce only one successful creature. It is very cruel. Besides, having a duplicate of ourselves is also not a good idea. If it is not a person but a robot, will it be better? Might be. I am not sure...

  3. Interesting topic! I have never thought of creating another me before. After reading your blog, I am afraid that I will be the one who take the duty to go to school and do homework. I cannot imagine another me existing in my life. It will greatly damage my life.

  4. My topic is quiet similar to yours and I also think that we should not clone people because it may cause many problems to the society.

  6. I share the same dream as yours. I also wanted to have a clone when I was a child, but now, I still want so. Though I agree with you that our clones are totally another persons to us, I am still curious about how many marks can my cllone get in his college entrance exam and how well can he speak English.

  7. I think cloning human is a dangerous thing. If "another me" do something illegal, maybe people will punish me by mistake, and it is difficult to distinguish the clone people and common people. The clone people can cheat others to believe them are not cloned, and in fact, they might do not know they are clone people, either.

  8. I always believe that there is a limit for everything, even for cloning. There is always something we human beings can't do because, if we can do everything, that must be the end of the world.
