Life needs some stress

Many people dislike stress and try many methods to get rid of it. They may consider the word “stress” as a bad thing, which is harmful to them both physically and mentally. To some extent, too much stress can be harmful and may cause some problems, for example, it may make someone sleepless for several days. In my opinion, however, stress is a necessary element in one’s life.
Stress gives people the power to work. As we know, laziness is a natural condition for many people. Although they might know that laziness is not good, it is hard to refuse to enjoy a relaxed life. In this case, stress can be a useful medicine to cure laziness. For example, if the blog writing seven deadline is tomorrow, I will rack my brains to finish my blog (just as what I am dong know). On the contrary, if there are no deadlines, maybe I will never think of doing it, let alone “kill my brain cells” to write it.
Another benefit is that stress makes people be more attentive to work or problems. When people feel stressed, they might force themselves to pay more attention to and think about their problems more fully. As an SM3 scholar, I am under pressure to behave appropriately; I need to do well in both study and life in Singapore. Once I do something inappropriately, many people will keep their eyes on me. Under this stress, I am perhaps more careful to behave myself and keep myself away from trouble.
Finally, life needs some stress to be meaningful and interesting. Proper stress, in some degree, is like a challenge; when one faces challenges or difficulties, it will be stressful to deal with them. If life does not have any changes, it can be quiet boring. Challenges make life colorful and give people the chance to try new things by going beyond themselves.
No one can really get rid of stress and no one can deny that stress is often unnecessary in people’s daily lives. The important thing is that the quantity of stress: not too much, not too little. With proper stress, we can work better and live better.

  1. I agree with you. Lfe needs stress. As for me, however, I usually feel under stress for some small things. I think I should change it to the proper stress as you mentioned.

  2. Yes, it is necessary for people to have certain stress. I think stress is a motivation to "pull" people to do necessary things. For me, if there is much time left,I will not finish my homework immediately, because of lack of stress.

  3. Though the stress push us to work and finish our tasks in time, I still do not like stress. The stress anyway is not a source of happiness; it will not make people feel good. It will always be better for people to do something only because they are interested in it but not pushed by deadline. Yet, I still agree with your idea but I think we should try to develop our interest on something and forget our stress on it.

  4. I agree to your idea. In fact, I cannot live a good life without stress. When I am on holiday, I usually find something to do with a deadline set by myself. When I finished the job, I felt happy and did not waste my time. I like stress.

  5. I cannot agree with you more. It is easy for me to waste a lot of time doing a simple thing, but when the deadline is coming, I will do my work more efficiently.

  6. I like the third benefit. The memory that my friends and I work together to finish our tasks, and we study together to get a high mark is my treasure. The stress provide us a fighting experience.

  7. It is true that stress pushes people to work harder, but I just want some stress as you wrote. As for me, dreams and challenges are more important motivations to make a better life.

  8. I agree with you. If there is no stress at all, we can not get the power to struggle forwords.

  9. I think if there is suitable stress in my life, I will make more progress. But too much stress can destroy one person, because he or she will be concerned about what troubles him or her for too much time.
