Gorilla and Human Being

    Most people believe that gorilla and human being were relatives millions of years ago. I also believe that. I have one question, however. As we all know that gorilla has much more hair than human being, why the male gorillas do not have beard?

    To answer this question, let us focus on the genes in the scientific view, as they determine the physical appearance of a species. Gorilla has 24 chromosomes and human being has 23 ones. Many similarities have been found between the genes of the two species. However, there is something more interesting. One part of a human being chromosome has similarities with one of gorilla, and the other part of the same human being chromosome has similarities with another one of gorilla. Scientists deduce that, that chromosome of human being comes from a combination of the two chromosomes of gorilla, and the combination happened millions of years ago. This outcome proved that the two species, gorilla and human being, are closely related.

    If the combination really happened, I think it must be a big event during human being’s evaluation. It makes a lot of changes on human beings, such as making the brain cleverer and more creative. Maybe, at the same time, the combination also add male some hairs over his lips by accident.

    So interesting of your topic. I have not think about the question why the male gorillas do not have beard. Your guess about the combination of gorilla and human being is also interesting.
